ALL products used by AMCD are non-restricted, general use pesticides. While strictly following each EPA Label application and handling requirements, every product and how they are strategically applied is considered by the EPA to be safe for YOU, and your ANIMALS. In addition, our district applies these products well within the allotted rate given by the EPA (mid-label recommendation). AMCD adulticide fog trucks and side-by-sides will be changing back to a permethrin-based active ingredient for the 2026 spray season. This treatment is widely used and typically has little to no noticeable odor, with only a faint citrus scent, if any.
If you prefer to take extra precautions while spraying is occurring in your area, you might consider stepping indoors and closing windows and doors for about 10–15 minutes as the truck passes by.
